CDL Bus Drivers
Policy:
A general description of job responsibilities for a CDL Bus Driver is provided to ensure that job tasks, equipment and work environment meet all regulatory and governing body requirements.
Summary Of Primary Responsibilities:
• Operates B&W passenger buses for the purpose of transporting larger groups of passengers or to provide shuttle services.
• Performs customer service through efficient and professional communication with clients and the general public.
• Maintains a clean work environment, clean vehicle, and performs routine vehicle safety checks prior to and during operation.
• Carries out any other duty deemed necessary by company management.
• This is a part time position as needed, but drivers can opt to drive a paratransit van to complete 40 hours per week and make it a full time position.
Summary Of Job Skills and Knowledge:
• Must be at least 25 years of age and have a valid Driver's License with good driving record.
• Valid City Operator's License and Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Must complete TAPTCO, First Aid/CPR and DRIVE Training Classes.
• Knowledge of the assigned area, the ability to use G PS, read maps and follow directions.
• Good communications skills, possess basic common sense, be friendly and compassionate.
Summary Of Physical Demands:
• May require prolonged sitting or standing.
• Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing.
• Full range of body motion required. May require assisting passengers with luggage or equipment.
Summary Of General Working Conditions:
• Exposure to all weather conditions.
• Frequent driving, loading and unloading passengers into/out of vehicle.
• Securing objects for safe transport.
• Handling two-way communication via in-vehicle tablet.
• Moderate to high stress.
• Flexible and varying work hours including nights.
• May require overnight trips.
